Workshops & Teaching
I have worked in conjunction with schools and local authorities on complementary teaching projects. Workshops have included 'Painting with Mud', 'Potato Printing' and 'A Basic Approach to Graphic Design'.1. Mud Painting Workshops
This workshop has been used with younger school and special needs groups. The use of natural materials for painting and creative projects allows the students to see the possibilities of such media, and to express and experience a relationship with their environment. The workshop is designed to be fun!2. Potato Printing Workshops
Again this workshop has been used with younger school and special needs groups. The use of this simple printmaking technique allows students to explore the basic ideas behind printing. The group will produce designs for cards, wrapping paper and simple decorative objects, as well as exploring the use of multiple images to construct pictures.3. A Basic Approach to Graphic Design
This simple course outlines the basic principle of graphic design, especially in relation to home-based computer use. The production of a simple design allows the student to explore these basic principles and to enhance the enjoyment of their own design work. The course has been run over 5 days with a local authority group in Co. Clare, Ireland, but may be tailored to suit the needs of the client group. A leaflet outlining the principles and uses of graphic design is included.4. A Basic Approach to Painting
A Basic Course for beginners and those interested in diversifying their painting style. This course offers suggestions for approaches to painting, drawing and any other creative art. It is hoped that by reviewing our approach to painting we may further appreciate and enjoy our own and others' work. Some basic materials may be supplied , as well as a leaflet to outline the principles of the course.Workshops cost from £200/day. This includes course design and basic materials.
